“ Came here for a late lunch last week after a work event and OMG! HEAVEN ON EARTH! The exterior of the restaurant is pretty unassuming and the inside is dated and nothing to write home about. But the food...I am still thinking about it a week later. I got the three meat dinner with pulled pork, jalapeno/cheddar sausage and brisket. You get two sides and I got potato salad (so good!) and the beans. They give you huge fountain drinks as well, so that's appreciated. I cannot wait to go back next time I am at that office :) ”

“ Okay, hear me out. Demeris BBQ has a really good deal! We went to try it out and it did not disappoint. Service was great and helped us out pretty fast! The restaurant is pretty old, but I feel like this adds to the value! A place that's been running for a while is a good restaurant in my books. I got the combo with 2 meats and 2 sides (which was under 20 dollars). Brisket and sausage is what I always go for and I got macaroni and rice. Truly was good food that was comforting! ”

“ The pork ribs were the perfect balance of flavor, seasoning and tenderness. I didn't care for the sauce BUT I haven't found any BBQ sauce that I like/love in Houston YET. I took my food to-go but there are plenty of tables and TV's to watch Games with friends The service was refreshingly "energetic" . I don't know about you but recently most restaurant servers can be polite and professional while being numb and robotic. Over worked underpaid employees that work with the PUBLIC have my empathy. Please remember to be kind to people, FIRST, everyone is going through SOMETHING. You never know if you could save someone's life just by being kind. The menu was extensive so lots more to try! I would recommend it to friends. ”

“ All around, this is pretty good barbecue. We stopped by for dinner on a Friday evening around 6pm. There was only one other set of diners when we arrived. We quickly ordered a brisket burger with two sides to share (mac & cheese and green beans). Our food came out very quickly! We happily dug into the sandwich, and weren't very hungry so we split it. If you're coming here with a big appetite, you should probably order a whole sandwich for yourself. The barbecue sauce was great and I felt that they put a decent amount of meat in the sandwich. The mac and cheese was deliciously creamy, and I enjoyed the green beans as well. A few more patrons entered as we left, so I am guessing they get a bit busier later in the evening. I might come back here if I'm in the area, though there are a few Houston barbecue places I'd prefer. ”

“ I've lived in Houston, TX all of my life (53 years), 9 years ago I moved out to the Katy\ Cypress area. I recently went back to my old stomping grounds and was looking for something good and hearty to eat and saw Demeris Bar-B-Q. It's been at least 30 years since I've been here, but I'm very pleased to report that the quality of their food, the friendly service and the cleanliness of their establishment has not changed. I was greeted with kind friendly faces and the food I ordered was ready very quickly- granted it was not busy, still it came out hot and fresh. Ok the dish, I ordered the brisket taco's and OMG! they were fantastic! The taco shells were crispy and light with an amazing taste, and the brisket was very flavorful and all of the condiments tasted fresh and were also delicious! I also ordered a loaded potato, an IBC root beer and (I'm from Texas) of course pecan pie. All of it was just great! The manager was very friendly and made sure I was well taken care of. Demeris Bar-B-Q is a staple establishment in Houston, TX and they deserve my praise and I'm happy to give it to them, thank you! The brisket and pulled pork are savory and tender, and are offered on a plate, in a sandwich, on a salad, or stuffed in a baked potato. Order at the counter after reading the large and legible menu board, and the cashier shouts your order to the kitchen crew. By the time you have paid the cashier, your order is ready to carry to your table or to take to go. The never ending pandemic has hurt the volume of business, which has been further battered by ongoing road construction on Shepherd. A meal from Demeris BBQ is well worth the time and effort to slog through construction traffic. ”
